Firing breaks out suddenly on Mayur Vihar-Akshardham road
The incident occurred late at night near the loop leading from Mayur Vihar towards Akshardham. The Crime Branch had received information that a suspect linked to criminal activities was likely to arrive in the area. Acting on the tip-off, the police team stepped up surveillance along the probable route and began preparing to corner him.
According to police, as soon as the suspect's presence was confirmed, the team moved to stop him. It is alleged that the accused attempted to escape the police cordon, during which firing broke out. Crime Branch personnel returned fire in response, and several rounds were exchanged for some time before the team managed to overpower and detain the accused.
No one injured despite the exchange of fire

The arrested accused has been identified as a resident of Meerut. Police suspect, based on a check of his criminal history, that he is linked to several serious cases. Investigators are also probing his suspected involvement in firing and murder-related incidents in Delhi's Chhawla area.
