
Gadchiroli: Police have recovered three rocket launchers, rifles, detonators and other material allegedly hidden by Naxals in the Koparshi forest area of Bhamragad sub-division, Gadchiroli district, Maharashtra.
Police said a special anti-Maoist operation was launched on 6 October after they received intelligence.
Search launched on intelligence input
Security agencies had been told that Naxals had hidden a large quantity of explosives, weapons and other material in dense, isolated forest. The aim, according to the information received, was to target security forces.
Teams of the Special Operations Squad and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) were sent to the area. Jawans carried out a careful and extensive search of suspected parts of the forest.

Other Maoist material was also found, police said.
Explosives destroyed at the spot
The recovered explosives and other dangerous material were destroyed at the site. Police said this was done following prescribed safety procedures.
Police described the action as an important step in neutralising material hidden to target security forces. Search and anti-Naxal operations in the area are continuing.
