Asavari Jagdale, whose father Santosh Jagdale was killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, has thanked the Indian Army and security agencies after Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Hashim Moosa was killed in an encounter in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir. She said the news was an emotional and significant moment for her.

Recalling the attack, she said the way people were targeted after being asked about their religious identity was extremely painful. She said today was one of the happiest days for her.

Jagdale said the killing of people in the Baisaran valley on 22 April 2025, in which 26 lives were lost, can never be forgotten. She said she had learnt that the terrorist described as being behind the plot of the attack had been killed in the encounter.

Gratitude to security forces

Asavari Jagdale thanked the security forces and said the campaign against terrorism must continue. She said security agencies should keep up their efforts to end the threat of terrorism in the country completely and remain vigilant.

Recalled father during shraddh rites

She said she had spoken to her father's photograph during his shraddh ritual. According to her, the sacrifice of the 26 people killed in the 22 April attack has played a part in the ongoing operations against terrorism.

She said she had told her father that whatever operations are under way against terrorism are because of the sacrifice of all those who died, and that the sacrifice of those 26 people is a major reason behind them.

She said she became emotional on hearing that the terrorist had been killed in the encounter, and expressed gratitude to the Indian Army and all agencies involved in the operation.

'A chapter towards justice has been completed'

Asavari said the killing of the terrorist is a step towards justice, but that full justice will be considered done only after the legal process is completed. Referring to Operation Sindoor, she said she had felt even then that a strong message had been sent against terrorism.

She said she felt this was important news for the 26 families. With the killing of the terrorist linked to the plan that cost their loved ones their lives, one chapter of the case had ended, she said.

She made it clear, however, that the matter is not over. According to her, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) should continue its investigation, and the process of justice will continue until the legal process is complete and the court delivers its final verdict.
