The bodies of three siblings have been found in a closed flat in Virar West, Maharashtra. The dead include two brothers and their sister. Going by preliminary information, police suspect that all three died by suicide.
Police said the incident took place in the K Avenue building in Global City, Virar West. The discovery has caused a stir in the area. The bodies were recovered on Thursday from Flat No. 1203 in Wing D.
Prakash Kawale, senior police inspector, Bolinj police station, told the media that neighbours had reported a foul smell coming from the flat the previous night. Police reached the spot, broke open the door and entered the flat. All three were found dead inside.
Victims Aged Around 45 to 50
According to police, the victims are aged around 45 to 50 years. Preliminary information also suggests that one of the dead had recorded a video on a mobile phone before dying, in which the person spoke of dying by suicide. However, the actual reason behind the incident is not yet clear.
One of the Three Had Cancer, Says Police
Kawale said one of the three was suffering from cancer and the family was also facing financial trouble. Police are looking into all aspects of the case.
Police have taken the three bodies into their custody and sent them for post-mortem. An ADR (accidental death report) has been registered and an investigation has begun. Police are examining the post-mortem report, the video found on the mobile phone and other evidence to establish the cause of the three deaths.
