Asian Games 2026: India Win 7th Gold as Women’s Compound Archery Team Beat China, Equal World Record

India won their seventh gold medal at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Wednesday, as the women's compound archery team defeated China in the final.

The trio of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika Pradeep and Chikitha Taniparthi gave India a gold-medal start to the day. Their score equalled the world record.

Semi-final win over South Korea

India reached the final by beating South Korea in the semi-final.

Four-point margin over China

India scored 238 points in the final and beat China by four points. China finished with 234 points and took silver.

The 238-point mark was first set by South Korea at the 2014 Asian Games. India's score now matches it.

Bronze for South Korea

In the bronze-medal match, South Korea beat Chinese Taipei to win bronze. South Korea scored 229 points.
