Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain has won the gold medal in the women's 75kg category at the Asian Games 2026. She defeated China's Bao Ziyi 5-0 in the final, winning her first Asian Games gold medal.

Bao, a gold medallist at the Asian Elite Championships, could not make an impact against Lovlina and had to settle for silver. Lovlina had lost to a Chinese boxer at the 2022 Asian Games, and has now avenged that defeat by beating a Chinese boxer.

Lovlina Wins Final 5-0

Lovlina won the first round, with three judges ruling in favour of the Indian boxer. In the second round, four judges gave her 10 points, which all but secured the gold. The pattern did not change in the last round, where the Chinese boxer impressed only one judge, while four judges gave Lovlina 10 points to seal the win.

Indian boxers had missed out on gold at the previous edition, but Lovlina's gold has taken India past that performance. At the 2022 Asian Games, India won four boxing medals: one silver and three bronze. In this edition, India has so far won four boxing medals, including one gold, and two more boxers are still in the race for medals.

Lovlina's medal has taken India's total tally at the Games to 70.
