A young man from Gujarat lost his life in a road accident in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district after the car he was travelling in collided head-on with a pickup vehicle near a petrol pump on Jaisalmer Road. The impact was so severe that the man was critically injured and died before he could be taken to hospital.

Travelling to Ramdevra with Friends

According to initial reports, the deceased, identified as Kuwarbhai, a resident of Gandhinagar in Gujarat, was travelling with his friends to Ramdevra to visit the shrine of Baba Ramdevji. Their car collided with a pickup vehicle near the petrol pump on Jaisalmer Road. The accident caused panic at the scene, with local residents rushing to help those injured and alerting the police. Three other occupants of the car — Meghabhai, Devjibhai and Munnabhai — also sustained injuries in the crash.

Local BJP leader Shravan Poonia and Gram Vikas Adhikari Tan Singh Luna, who were present at the scene, acted swiftly and helped transport the injured to hospital by ambulance. Doctors declared Kuwarbhai dead on arrival, while the other injured persons are currently receiving treatment.

Pickup Driver Flees the Scene

A large crowd gathered at the accident site soon after the collision, with the atmosphere remaining chaotic for some time. Local residents helped pull the injured from the wrecked car and informed both the police and ambulance teams. ASI Bastaram and his police team arrived promptly to assess the situation and have launched an investigation into the causes of the crash.

Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup vehicle abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene following the accident. Police are now searching for him. Preliminary investigations suggest that excessive speed on the part of both vehicles may have caused the collision. Police have seized both vehicles and are working to establish their exact speeds at the time of impact and the precise cause of the crash. Officers are questioning nearby witnesses and gathering further evidence.
