A murder case has come to light in Rajasthan's Alwar district, where the bloodied body of a Class 12 student, missing for two days, was discovered on Wednesday morning in bushes near the wall of a cremation ground in Newari-Padavda village, under the jurisdiction of Naugawan police station. The case took a new turn late at night after the body was identified. The victim's family have accused his own friends of carrying out the killing, and police, treating it as murder at first glance, are investigating every angle.
Station House Officer Hardayal Singh said the missing student, Tushar Kumar, had disappeared two days earlier from the Bhugor area, under Alwar Sadar police station. When an extensive search failed to trace him, his family had lodged a missing person's report. On Wednesday morning, police rushed to the site after his bloodied body was found in bushes near the cremation ground wall in Newari-Padavda, and gathered evidence at the scene.
According to police, the deceased appeared to be around 21 years old. He had a serious injury to the back of his head, and the body was found in a bloodied state. Given the circumstances at the scene, the case is being treated as murder at first sight. Police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination to the mortuary of Alwar's General Hospital. Missing person records from neighbouring police station areas were also checked to help identify the victim, and his identity was confirmed late at night.
Family had filed a missing person's report
The family had filed a missing person's report on 14 July. The student had reportedly gone off with Sanju and Ajit, from Tasai Indira Colony in Naugawan. Police have recovered the body and launched an investigation, saying the post-mortem report and other evidence should help establish the cause of death.
Tushar's body found in a bloodied condition
According to the family, Tushar had suddenly gone missing from the Bhugor area along with some friends on 14 July. His body was later found roughly 45 kilometres from Alwar, in bushes near the cremation ground wall in Newari-Padavda village. The family alleges that his friends murdered him and dumped the body near a farmhouse.
Police investigating the murder
Police have detained several of the student's friends for questioning, based on his mobile call records. Initial investigations suggest the friends carried out the killing over some kind of enmity or dispute. Police say the investigation is ongoing and the case is expected to be cracked soon.
