
The Directorate of Public Instruction, Chhattisgarh, has released a detailed notification for the direct recruitment of Assistant Teachers (Class III, Pay Matrix Level-06) to fill vacant posts in the state's government schools. The recruitment process will be carried out through the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (Vyapam). Following the release of the notification, D.El.Ed and TET-qualified candidates in Bemetara district, along with educated unemployed youth, have expressed enthusiasm.
A total of 70 Assistant Teacher posts will be filled under the E-cadre in Bemetara district. The online application process for these posts will begin soon via the Vyapam portal. The notification issued for the district also includes a category-wise breakdown of all 70 posts, enabling candidates to apply according to their eligibility.
Candidates aged 21 to 35 eligible to apply
The minimum age for candidates applying for the Assistant Teacher post has been set at 21 years, and the maximum at 35 years, as on 1 January 2026. In line with state government rules, candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and women candidates will be given the standard relaxation in the upper age limit.
Written exam likely on 11 October
As part of the recruitment process, the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (Vyapam) will conduct a written examination. According to the preliminary schedule, the exam is likely to be held on 11 October 2026. Detailed guidelines regarding the examination, admit cards and other information will be released on Vyapam's official website.
795 E-cadre posts across 12 districts statewide
At the state level, the Directorate of Public Instruction has announced a total of 2,292 Assistant Teacher posts across the E and T cadres combined. Of these, 795 E-cadre posts fall within 12 plain-area districts. The districts with the highest number of vacancies include Durg (80), Bilaspur (80), Balodabazar (80), Bemetara (70) and Raipur (70), with vacancies also allotted to other districts.
1,497 T-cadre posts across 16 districts
For tribal and remote areas, 1,497 posts will be filled under the T-cadre across 16 districts. Jashpur (150), Bastar (125), Bijapur (105), Kanker (100) and Kondagaon (100) have been allotted the highest number of vacancies. Recruitment for these districts will also be conducted through Vyapam.
A major employment opportunity for youth
This large-scale recruitment drive for Assistant Teacher posts, the first of its kind in a long while, is expected to give thousands of D.El.Ed and TET-qualified candidates a chance at government employment. With 70 approved posts in Bemetara district, local candidates are also expected to benefit. Once the application process opens, candidates will be able to apply online through the Vyapam portal.
