Bhopal: The body of retired IAS officer Rakesh Agrawal was kept in a deep freezer until his son reached Bhopal from the United States. His last rites were performed about 60 hours after his death. The son travelled about 12,000 km, and reaching Bhopal from the US took him two days. On Saturday, police said the investigation into the case was being carried out swiftly.

The circumstances of Agrawal's death are yet to be resolved. About four days after the incident, police remain empty-handed. Several Bhopal Police officers are working to arrest the accused, Varun, but have not succeeded so far. On Saturday too, police claimed they would soon achieve a breakthrough in the case, though the accused is still out of their reach.

Meanwhile, Bhopal Police have recorded the statement of Agrawal's wife, Nishi Agrawal. She has told police that some items are missing from the house.

Death still discussed in administrative circles

Agrawal's death was still being discussed in the state capital's administrative circles on Saturday. Several employees and officers who had served under him expressed grief over the incident and anger over the functioning of the police.
