Three elderly family members found bludgeoned to death outside their home in Prayagraj's Meja area, suspect from same village identified.

Triple Murder in Prayagraj: Three members of the same family have been killed in the Meja police station area of Prayagraj in what is being described as a brutal late-night attack. One man and two women were struck on the head with a sharp weapon. Their bodies were discovered by villagers lying outside the house on Tuesday morning, prompting an immediate call to the police. Officers are now at the scene and an investigation is under way.
All three victims were elderly members of the same family from Kukur Katwa village under the Meja police station area. Wounds consistent with blows from a sharp weapon have been found on each of their heads. The bodies were recovered from separate locations within the compound on Tuesday morning, and the killings are believed to have taken place late on Monday night. Initial accounts suggest the victims were wounded and then pursued before being killed.
News of the incident sent the Prayagraj Commissionerate Police into immediate action. Senior district officials and forces from multiple police stations reached the scene, and both forensic and dog squad teams have been called in to assist. The deceased have been identified as Shyamlal (65), Indrawati Devi (62), wife of Dudhnath, and Amrawati Devi (65), wife of Nimbu Lal.
All three bodies have been taken into police custody and sent for post-mortem examination. Fear has gripped the local area in the wake of the killings. The bodies were found at some distance from the house itself. Family members have named a man from the same village as the suspected killer, alleging that he had threatened to wipe out the entire family just days before the attack. The accused is said to have had a long-standing dispute with the family.
Police have confirmed that the concerned station's force, along with forensic and dog squad teams, were deployed immediately upon receiving information. Questioning of neighbours and family members is ongoing. A formal written complaint has been submitted by the family, on the basis of which a case has been registered under relevant sections of law. All three bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and further action is underway.
