Rajasthan News: A day before Valentine's Day, a young man attempted self-immolation by sprinkling petrol outside a young woman's house. He was severely burnt in the fire and has been admitted to the hospital.
Just before Valentine's Day, a young man attempted self-immolation outside a woman's house in the Gandhinagar area of Abu Road city. The incident caused a stir in the area. The severely burnt youth was immediately rushed to the hospital, from where he was referred to Palanpur for better treatment.
The incident is reported to have occurred on Thursday. According to the police, a young man named Ravi Rana, a resident of Gandhinagar, reached the house of a woman. There, he sprinkled petrol on himself and set himself on fire. Seeing the flames rise, locals rushed to the spot and tried to douse the fire. Later, with the help of an ambulance, he was taken to the government hospital.
After primary treatment at the hospital, doctors, deeming the youth's condition critical, referred him to Palanpur. His treatment is currently ongoing.
Station House Officer Harchandram stated that prima facie, the case appears to be related to a love affair. However, the police are investigating all aspects. The woman and her family will also be questioned.
