Good news awaits young job-seekers in Chhattisgarh aspiring to become government school teachers. The state's School Education Department has announced plans to recruit 1,654 teachers to fill vacant posts in government schools across the state.
The Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) issued the official recruitment advertisement on Tuesday, confirming that teachers will be appointed in various subjects for government schools under the E and T cadre.
According to the department, the entire recruitment process will be conducted online. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply through the official website of the Chhattisgarh Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (CG Vyapam), the state's professional examination board. A detailed schedule covering the application timeline and further guidelines is expected to be released shortly. The department has also confirmed that the recruitment examination will take place on 25 October 2026.
Under this recruitment drive, teachers will be appointed across six subjects in total, with English seeing the highest number of vacancies. The subject-wise breakdown of posts is as follows:
The whole recruitment process, from submitting applications to uploading the necessary documents, will be carried out through CG Vyapam's online portal. The department will separately announce further key dates, including the start and closing dates for applications, examination centres, and the release of admit cards.
This recruitment drive is being seen as a major development for candidates who have long been awaiting fresh teacher vacancies in the state. The appointment of 1,654 teachers is expected to help address staff shortages in government schools while giving qualified young people a valuable opportunity to secure government employment. The Education Department is hopeful that once the recruitment process is complete, the academic system in schools will be considerably strengthened.
