Israel launches fresh airstrikes and drone attacks in south Lebanon despite Donald Trump-brokered ceasefires; fears of multiple casualties grow.

Despite multiple ceasefires, fighting persists between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. The ceasefires, brokered by US President Donald Trump, have failed to yield results as Israeli military strikes show no signs of stopping.
Launching repeated assaults on southern Lebanon, the Israeli military has struck the country once again. According to Lebanese media reports, the Israeli Air Force carried out airstrikes on Aarid Dibbine, an agricultural area near the town of Dibbine in Lebanon's southern Marjayoun District, sparking widespread panic.
According to Lebanon's National News Agency, the Israeli military also launched a drone strike on the town of Jebchit in the Nabatieh District a short while ago, causing mass panic.
While the exact scale of the damage from these airstrikes and drone attacks remains unclear, Lebanese media reports suggest there are fears of multiple casualties.
On 10 June 2026, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu released a video message clarifying that Israel’s conflict is with Hezbollah, not the Lebanese people. He accused Hezbollah and Iran of taking Lebanon hostage and destroying its peaceful culture. Stating that Israel has eliminated nearly 10,000 terrorists and severely weakened the group, Netanyahu emphasised that Israel will protect its citizens but ultimately desires peace. He urged the Lebanese people not to let Hezbollah sacrifice their future, calling the militant group the sole obstacle to shared prosperity.
