The IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) has launched air strikes on Bahrain and Kuwait to retaliate against the United States of America's attacks on Iran. The IRGC is conducting these attacks using missiles and drones. Following this, Kuwait has closed its airspace.
Following the closure of the airspace, the Kuwait Civil Aviation Authority has cancelled all commercial flights. Additionally, incoming flights have been diverted to neighbouring countries. This decision has been taken keeping in view the gravity of the situation due to the Iranian attacks.
The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army has informed that their defensive action against Iranian missiles and drones is underway. For this, their air defence systems are active and are intercepting the Iranian missiles and drones.
The IRGC has attacked 18 US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. These include Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem Air Base and Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base, as well as Bahrain’s Shaikh Isa Air Base. The IRGC carried out attacks on these locations using ballistic missiles and drones. According to Iranian media, these strikes have caused damage to US command centres, fighter jet hangars, drone bases, and military facilities. Media reports indicate that the Iranian attacks are still ongoing.
Tensions have escalated once again in the Middle East as the cycle of attacks between the US and Iran resumes. The US attacked Iran for two consecutive days, and Iran did not sit idle either, launching retaliatory strikes on US allies in the Middle East. While US attacks damaged Iran's military infrastructure, Iran's attacks on countries like Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan in the Middle East have also caused damage to the military infrastructure in these nations. This is impacting the US, as these military bases are utilised for the deployment of American troops, fighter jets, other weaponry, and command centres. This is the reason why Iran is targeting these countries, and if US attacks continue, Iran will maintain its retaliatory actions in this manner, leading to many more such strikes in the Middle East.
