Gaza: 4 Palestinians Killed, 12 Injured in Israeli Attacks; Israel Says Action Against Hamas Will Continue

Gaza: Four Palestinians have been killed and 12 injured in fresh Israeli attacks in Gaza. An official of the ambulance and emergency services said Israeli forces shot dead at least one Palestinian in the Tawam area, north of Gaza City.

Deaths in Israeli shooting and drone strikes

According to an Al Jazeera report, Nasser Hospital in Gaza said a Palestinian civilian wounded by Israeli soldiers' gunfire near Khan Younis died during treatment. In a separate incident earlier, a drone struck a vehicle in the western part of Gaza City, killing at least one person. A drone strike on a makeshift tent in the Al-Mawasi area of southern Gaza also killed one person.

Israel says it killed Hamas finance chief Abu Alwan

Israel says its army killed Muhammad Abu Alwan, head of Hamas's finance department, in a targeted operation in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on 23 September. In a joint statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz said the operation was carried out jointly by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (ISA). The statement said Abu Alwan had been eliminated by the IDF in Khan Younis.

Action against Hamas will continue, says Israel

The two leaders praised the IDF and ISA for what they called a "precise operation" and said offensive steps against adversaries would continue. The Israeli government said its campaign against Hamas's leadership and financial network would continue without pause until Hamas ceases to exist in Gaza. It said the search for Hamas commanders and members would go on, the sources of its funds would be targeted, and what it described as its terror infrastructure would be destroyed. It added that Hamas would not be allowed to regroup.
