BCI Guidelines For Law Students

Law students will have to provide information about any cases registered against them to their educational institution before receiving their final mark sheet and degree. This includes registered FIRs, criminal cases, convictions, or acquittals. Failure to disclose this information will result in disciplinary action, including withholding of degree. The educational institution will forward this information to the Bar Council of India (BCI) and wait for its decision before issuing the final mark sheet and degree. The Bar Council of India has taken this step to maintain ethical standards in the legal profession.

These important directions have been given

- Biometric attendance system in law colleges.

- CCTV cameras will be installed in prominent places to ensure accountability and discipline, and recordings will be kept for one year.

- It will be mandatory to declare that you are not pursuing any other regular academic degree during LLB studies.

- During the LLB course, you cannot engage in any job, service, or business without valid permission.
