1,150 PM e-buses allocated for 8 Rajasthan cities; Kota finalises 20 routes for 100 electric buses. Infrastructure to be ready by June 2026.

E-Bus Route In Kota: The Municipal Corporation has determined the routes for the operation of e-buses under the Prime Minister E-Bus Scheme on the roads of Kota city. The e-buses will be operated on 20 routes in the city, covering the limits of the Kota Development Authority. 100 e-buses are to be operated in the city. The work on the e-bus stand near Subhash Nagar by the Municipal Corporation is in its final stage. The deadline to complete the work of the bus stand is June 2026.
In such a situation, finishing work, including the building side work, the charging station, and the main gate has started here. With the completion of the bus stand work, Kota can get the e-buses. Therefore, work is being done to appoint drivers and conductors for the operation of these buses and to fix the bus stoppages, while 20 routes have been fixed for the operation of the buses. In Kota, two sizes of buses, big and medium, will be operated according to the passenger load. Charging points will also be installed at major places in the city for the operation of buses.
Exercise to stop pollution
Emphasis is being laid on e-vehicles by the government to save petrol and diesel. Apart from this, the government is also focusing on preventing pollution and saving diesel. In such a situation, the exercise regarding the implementation of the operation of e-buses is also going on on a war footing.
Operation will be through KBSL
The e-buses will be operated by the Municipal Corporation in Kota through Kota Bus Service Limited (KBSL). Later, a plan to operate through a centralised agency in 8 cities is also being worked upon.
This many e-buses will run here
1150 e-buses will be allocated to 8 cities of the state. In this, 450 e-buses are to be operated in Jaipur, 125-125 in Jodhpur and Bikaner, 100-100 in Ajmer, Alwar and Kota, 50-50 in Udaipur, Sikar and Bhilwara. The trial of the buses has been done, and the development of other facilities, including charging stations, is being done at a fast pace.
