A shocking case of murder has emerged from the Railway Colony police station area in Kota, Rajasthan, where a 10-year-old boy was brutally killed. The victim, identified as Mayank Meena, was the son of Amar Singh Meena, a railway employee originally hailing from Karauli. The child had been missing since Monday afternoon, prompting his father to file a missing person report late that night. Acting on the complaint, the police initially registered a case of kidnapping and launched a search operation.
The search ended in tragedy on Tuesday night around 9:00 PM when the police received information about a child's body lying in the forested area opposite the Railway Workshop on Sogaria Road. Upon reaching the spot, police discovered the body in a severely mutilated state, as wild animals had scavenged it, leaving body parts scattered across the area.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the boy was murdered by being struck on the head with a heavy stone before his body was dumped in the forest. Senior police officials, including Superintendent of Police Tejaswini Gautam and Trainee IPS Siddhant Srivastava, visited the crime scene to oversee the investigation. An Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was also deployed to gather crucial evidence. While official confirmation is pending, police sources suspect that another minor who lived nearby might be involved in the crime. Police are currently scanning CCTV footage from the vicinity and conducting interrogations to determine the exact motive behind the heinous killing.
