Tensions between Iran and the United States have flared up again in West Asia. Fresh American strikes have hit several Iranian cities, including Bandar Abbas, Konarak, Sirik and Chabahar. The strikes came just hours after US President Donald Trump declared an end to the ceasefire/peace deal.

Iran's state news agencies, Mehr and Mizan, have confirmed the attacks. According to Mehr, loud explosions were heard in both Bandar Abbas and Sirik, as well as near Chabahar and Konarak. Following the US airstrikes, Iran's air defence systems were activated. Iran's IRNA news agency reported that power supply in parts of Chabahar was disrupted after the latest attacks.

Bridge in Aq Qala Also Targeted

In the latest round of strikes, the US also targeted the area around the Aq Taj Khan bridge in Aq Qala, located in the northern Golestan province, according to information cited from the Fars news agency. No casualties were reported from this particular strike, though the IRGC warned of a strong response.

Iran Writes to the United Nations

Iran's state media reported that the country has sent letters to the United Nations regarding the latest US strikes. Iran's UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani accused the US of attacking Iran's sovereignty, calling it a violation of the UN Charter.

Iran Retaliates with Missile and Drone Attack on Kuwait

In response to the US strikes, Iran reportedly launched a retaliatory missile and drone attack on Kuwait. Kuwait's military said its air defence system was activated and successfully intercepted the Iranian drones and missiles, with the explosions heard being the result of interceptions. Kuwait's KUNA news agency reported that sirens were sounding across the country.

Sirens in Bahrain

Bahrain has also gone on alert over the Iranian attacks. The country's Interior Ministry said air raid warning sirens were sounded, and it urged citizens and residents to remain calm and move to the nearest safe location.
