Malviya Nagar Fire Accident 21 Dead: Extremely tragic and painful news is emerging from Malviya Nagar, a posh area in South Delhi. On Wednesday, a massive fire suddenly broke out in a restaurant located here. The fire spread so rapidly that the people inside the restaurant did not even get a chance to escape, causing chaos and screams of panic. According to the Delhi Police, 21 people have died so far in this horrific fire. Meanwhile, reports indicate that around 25 people have suffered burn injuries.

Rescue Operation Underway, Death Toll May Rise

According to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), information about the fire was received at around 9:45 AM, after which relief and rescue operations were immediately launched at the spot. Firefighters safely rescued three people trapped in the basement, while a total of 37 people have been rescued from the building so far. The condition of several injured individuals is stated to be critical, leading to fears that the death toll might increase. Ten fire tenders were deployed to bring the fire under control, and the rescue operation is still ongoing.

Upon receiving information about the incident, local police and several fire engines reached the spot immediately. Firefighters brought the blaze under control after strenuous efforts and extracted the people trapped inside the restaurant. Police officials stated that those suffering from burns and suffocation due to the smoke were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment under doctors' supervision. The condition of some of the injured remains critical, due to which the death toll is feared to rise.

Police Investigating the Cause of the Fire

Initially, a short circuit or a gas cylinder leak is suspected to be the cause of the fire; however, the Delhi Police and forensic teams are conducting a detailed investigation to ascertain the actual reason. The police are also investigating whether the restaurant possessed a proper Fire NOC (No Objection Certificate) and adequate safety arrangements. Following this painful accident, an atmosphere of silence and mourning prevails over the entire Malviya Nagar area.
