Karauli Road Accident: Bike Swerves to Avoid Cow, Three Cousins Killed in Truck Collision

Three cousins killed in Karauli, Rajasthan after their bike swerved to avoid a cow and collided with a truck; police seize vehicle, probe on.

Three young men riding a single motorcycle were killed in a tragic road accident near the Magazine area of Karauli district on Wednesday evening, after their bike went out of control and collided with a truck. All three were rushed to the district hospital, where two were declared dead on arrival, while the third succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police reached the spot upon being alerted, seized the truck, and launched an investigation. A large crowd gathered at the scene soon after the accident.

According to police, the three men were riding together on one motorcycle when a cow suddenly appeared on the road. In trying to avoid the animal, the rider lost control of the bike, which then collided with a truck. All three sustained critical injuries in the crash. Bystanders alerted the police and rushed the injured to the district hospital, where Ashish, a resident of Bhimnagar, and Pawan, son of Chandraprakash Kashyap (21), a resident of Dagariya Mohalla in old Chhawni area of Dholpur, were declared dead by doctors. The third victim, Harsh, son of Raju Kashyap and a resident of Bhimnagar Pandey Ka Kuan in Karauli, was admitted in a critical condition but died during treatment.

Grieving families inconsolable

All three bodies were kept in the mortuary of the district hospital. Family members and a large number of local residents rushed to the hospital upon learning of the accident, with relatives left inconsolable. Paras, brother of the deceased Pawan, said Pawan worked as a food delivery agent, Harsh was employed at a hotel, and Ashish worked at a shop. The three young men, cousins by relation, were also close friends.

Bike bought just two months ago

Pawan had bought a new bike just two months earlier. He and Ashish had set out for a swim at a pool near Maslapur Chungi. The pair first stopped at a hotel in Gulab Bagh, where they picked up Harsh after getting him time off work. The three spent the day enjoying themselves and were on their way back in the evening when the accident occurred. Harsh was Pawan's maternal cousin, while Ashish was Harsh's paternal cousin. Karauli Kotwali police reached the site and seized the truck. Additional Superintendent of Police Maheshchand Meena, Deputy Superintendent of Police Anuj Shubham and other officials visited the hospital and accident site to take stock of the situation. Police are investigating the case.
