Agra newlywed Amit Kumar murdered by brother-in-law and wife; CCTV exposed the plot. Police arrested both within 24 hours.

In a shocking crime that has rattled the Sultanpura Choti Basti locality of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, a 22-year-old newlywed man was murdered by his own younger brother, who was allegedly in a relationship with the victim's wife. Police solved the case within 24 hours, aided by CCTV footage from the area.
The victim, Amit Kumar, worked at a local eatery. On Wednesday morning he left home for work as usual, but his body was found shortly after in a bush not far from his house. He had sustained severe injuries to his head and face. The discovery sent shockwaves through the neighbourhood, and a grieving father was seen clutching his son's body in tears at the scene.
Initially, the victim's younger brother attempted to deflect suspicion toward an outsider. However, police reviewed nearby CCTV footage and spotted the brother following Amit shortly before the murder. That lead proved decisive.
Under interrogation, the younger brother confessed. He admitted to being in a romantic relationship with his sister-in-law and said the couple wanted to be together. Amit had reportedly discovered them together in a compromising situation just days earlier, triggering a confrontation at home. The two accused then conspired to eliminate him.
According to police, the brother followed Amit to a secluded spot and attacked him with a heavy stone, striking him repeatedly on the head and face, before strangling him to death with a cloth. After committing the crime, he returned home and pretended to grieve along with the rest of the family.
As the investigation tightened, the wife too came under suspicion. Evidence and interrogation confirmed her role in planning the murder. Police said the two had even made plans to live together after Amit's death.
Both accused have been arrested — the brother on charges of murder, and the wife for criminal conspiracy. The case has left the community in shock, as the couple had been married for just three months.
