Ajmer: Trainer Aircraft Develops Tyre Fault at Kishangarh Airport, Pilot Safe After Landing

A trainer aircraft circled in the air for hours at Kishangarh Airport in Ajmer on Thursday after developing a tyre fault during a training flight. A crash landing was carried out at the airport at around 2pm after the aircraft's fuel ran low. The pilot is reported to be completely safe, and there is currently no report of any casualties.

According to information available, the trainer aircraft took off from Kishangarh Airport at around 9.30am on Thursday for a training flight. At around 11am, air traffic control (ATC) received a report that the aircraft's tyre had burst. An emergency was immediately declared at the airport. The administration, along with NDRF and SDRF personnel, was kept ready to deal with any emergency.

Wait for fuel to reduce

Instead of landing the aircraft immediately after the tyre fault, the authorities waited for its fuel to reduce. The aircraft kept circling in the sky around the airport for about three hours. During this time, ATC and the airport administration team kept monitoring its condition.

Once the fuel had reduced, preparations began to land the aircraft at the airport. As a precaution, water was sprayed on an unpaved track before the landing. A crash landing was then carried out at around 2pm. No major loss of life was reported during the landing, and the pilot is said to be safe.

Preparations made in advance for an emergency

As soon as the report of the tyre fault was received, the airport administration activated emergency arrangements. NDRF and SDRF personnel were kept ready at the spot. Fire and rescue teams were also placed on alert so that immediate action could be taken if any emergency arose during the landing.

Pilot training is conducted at Kishangarh Airport

Pilot training is provided at Kishangarh Airport by Avanya Aviation, a flying training organisation approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). According to aviation-related information, Avanya Aviation is based at Kishangarh Airport. Records of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) also list fire and rescue services at the airport.

The airport administration and the agencies concerned are currently gathering details of the incident. The cause of the tyre fault and the extent of damage to the aircraft during the landing are yet to be known.
