Rajasthan: Weather to Change in Jaipur, Bharatpur and Several Districts Between September 3–7; Heavy Rain in some areas

The monsoon in Rajasthan is set to become active once again. According to the Meteorological Department, several parts of eastern Rajasthan are likely to see spells of rain between 3 and 7 September, with heavy rain forecast in some areas on 4 and 5 September. Eastern Rajasthan is expected to remain wet in the coming days.

The department said a Well Marked Low Pressure Area (WML) is currently positioned over north-eastern Madhya Pradesh, while the monsoon trough line is passing through Sri Ganganagar, Rohtak and the low-pressure area. These weather patterns are behind the renewed monsoon activity expected across the state.

In the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain was recorded at some places in the eastern districts of Kotputli-Behror, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa, Dholpur, Jaipur, Karauli, Bhilwara, Tonk, Sawai Madhopur, Bundi and Kota, while the rest of the state remained largely dry. The highest rainfall, 27mm, was recorded at Rupvas in Bharatpur district.

Rain Likely Today in These Areas

On 3 September, light to moderate rain is expected in parts of the Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer and Kota divisions, as well as the Shekhawati region. Heavy rain, accompanied by intense spells at some places, is likely in parts of the Bharatpur division.

The Meteorological Department said light to moderate rain could continue in parts of the Bharatpur, Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer and Udaipur divisions between 4 and 7 September, with heavy rain likely at some places in the Kota division and surrounding districts on 4 and 5 September.

Monsoon to Remain Weak in Western Rajasthan

Monsoon activity is expected to stay weak across western Rajasthan for now. Most parts of the Jodhpur division are likely to see subdued monsoon activity in the coming days as well. However, light to moderate rain is possible in Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Nagaur and surrounding areas between 4 and 6 September.

Rain Activity to Ease Again From September 8

The Meteorological Department said rainfall activity is likely to decline once again across most parts of the state from 8 September. This means the coming days will remain wet for eastern Rajasthan, after which monsoon activity is expected to weaken. The update was issued by the Meteorological Centre, Jaipur.
