Pratapgarh Police Action: Under the special campaign 'Operation Trinetra' targeting drug traffickers in the Pratapgarh district, the police have executed another major crackdown, freezing the illegal property of an NDPS Act accused valued at approximately £70,000 (70 lakh rupees). This marks the seventh major action taken in the district this year under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act.
Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police, B. Aditya, stated that Narayanlal Meena, a resident of Pharedi village under the Arnod police station area, is an accused arrested in an NDPS Act case. The police investigation revealed that he had been operating as a courier in drug trafficking for a long time and had amassed properties using the money generated from this illicit trade.
The investigation uncovered that the accused had built a luxurious house in Pharedi village at an estimated cost of 60 lakh rupees. Additionally, he owned a Jeep. The combined estimated value of both assets stands at approximately 70 lakh rupees. The SP added that continuous and effective action is being taken against drug traffickers in the district. In line with this, a police team led by Arnod Station House Officer (SHO) Shivlal Meena affixed freezing notices onto the accused's house and vehicle.
SHO Shivlal Meena stated that on 21 February, the Arnod police intercepted Narayanlal Meena during a routine checkpoint operation. They recovered 2.708 kg of brown sugar along with 1.723 kg of chemicals used for adulterating the drug from his possession. A case was subsequently registered under the NDPS Act.
Further investigation confirmed the accused's long-term involvement in drug trafficking. The police then identified the properties registered in his name, as follows:
| Property Type | Estimated Market Value |
| Luxurious House (Pharedi Village) | ₹60 Lakh |
| Jeep (SUV) | ₹10 Lakh |
| Total Value | ₹70 Lakh |
Action Taken Swiftly After Approval
The proposal to freeze the assets was drafted by SHO Shivlal Meena and forwarded to the Competent Authority and Administrator (SAFEM_NDPS), New Delhi, Government of India. Following the approval of the proposal by the competent authority, freezing notices were officially served against the accused.
The police have installed freezing boards on the respective properties and notified relevant departments for further legal proceedings. Officers noted that prior to this, assets worth approximately 2.78 crore rupees belonging to Usman Khan—the main accused in a separate drug trafficking case—were also frozen. Khan's seized assets included vehicles, a farmhouse, livestock, and residential properties.
