ED Raids Two Locations in Chennai, Searches Homes of Former RTO Officer and Businessman

Chennai witnessed a stir on Tuesday morning when teams from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted simultaneous searches at two locations in the city. The sudden operation, carried out under tight security cover, has sent ripples through administrative and business circles.

At around 8 am, convoys of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) vehicles cordoned off two selected buildings without warning. ED sleuths entered the bungalow of a retired Deputy Commissioner of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Teynampet, while another team searched the residence of a prominent businessman in Kaladipet.

Search carried out amid heavy security

Officials sealed off all entry and exit points as soon as they arrived at both premises. Both the former government officer and the businessman were present at their respective homes throughout the operation, which lasted for hours as rooms, cupboards and files were thoroughly examined.
