Oil marketing companies (OMCs) brought relief for LPG consumers on 1 August 2026, announcing a significant cut in the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders. The move is expected to directly benefit the monthly budgets of lakhs of restaurant owners, dhaba operators, sweet-shop owners and small traders across Rajasthan. In the state capital Jaipur, the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder has dropped by ₹192 to ₹2,765.50. However, rates for the 14.2 kg domestic cylinder used by households remain unchanged and continue to stay stable across the state. Variations in local taxes, VAT and transportation costs mean domestic and commercial cylinder rates differ from district to district across Rajasthan.
Where are cylinders cheapest and costliest in Rajasthan?
Due to differences in local freight charges and regional tax slabs, LPG rates vary across Rajasthan's districts:
Cheapest domestic cylinder (14.2 kg): The cheapest domestic gas cylinder in Rajasthan is available in the state capital Jaipur, priced at ₹945.50. Ajmer, Dausa and Sikar also offer domestic cylinders at an affordable ₹947.00.
Costliest domestic cylinder (14.2 kg): The most expensive domestic LPG cylinder in the state is in the tribal-dominated district of Dungarpur, where residents pay ₹991.50 per cylinder. Pratapgarh follows closely at ₹988.50.
Cheapest commercial cylinder (19 kg): The 19 kg commercial cylinder is cheapest in Ajmer at ₹2,718.00, with Beawar close behind at ₹2,720.50.
Costliest commercial cylinder (19 kg): The most expensive commercial gas cylinder is in Pratapgarh district, newly priced at ₹2,872.00, followed by Dungarpur at ₹2,862.50.
Relief for commercial users
The price cut by oil companies is expected to offer some support to Rajasthan's commercial sector. The ₹192 relief per 19 kg cylinder should help reduce operating costs for those in the hotel industry, food outlets and catering businesses.
With rates for the 14.2 kg cylinder used in household kitchens remaining unchanged, ordinary families' monthly budgets will stay steady and unaffected.
