People later began a protest on the road. On receiving information, Savina police station personnel reached the spot, pacified the crowd and rescued the driver from the mob.

According to Savina police, the accident took place at around 8 am on Teetardi Gupteshwar Road in Udaipur city. A speeding truck crushed the woman riding the scooty. Nirmala Sahu (48), wife of Kanhaiyalal Sahu and a resident of Teetardi, died on the spot.

Police said the accident occurred when the truck was coming towards Teetardi village, while the woman was returning home on her scooty. Her house was a short distance from the spot. On hearing about the accident, her family members and people living nearby reached the site.
