BLA Claims Killing 25 Pakistani Soldiers in Two Balochistan Attacks

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for two attacks on Pakistani army convoys in Balochistan, alleging that 25 soldiers were killed and three military vehicles destroyed. Pakistan continues to face unrest on its western front even as Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) sees mounting protests.

According to The Balochistan Post, a BLA spokesperson said its fighters targeted a military convoy, attacking several vehicles and destroying three of them, including a truck. The group claimed the attack, carried out on 3 September, initially killed 18 Pakistani soldiers, with the toll later said to have risen to 25.

Where the Attacks Took Place

BLA said its first attack targeted an army convoy at Ziarat Cross, where fighters destroyed two vehicles. The group claimed 18 security personnel were killed in this attack, while five injured soldiers managed to escape. BLA further claimed its fighters seized weapons from the Pakistani army.

The second attack, according to BLA, took place in the Hajika area of Surab, where a remote-controlled explosive device was detonated, killing seven security personnel and destroying one military vehicle. BLA has claimed responsibility for both attacks.

Attack Video Released

BLA released a one-minute-eleven-second video through its official media channel, Hakkal, which it said showed the aftermath of the Ziarat Cross attack. The footage shows BLA fighters near burning Pakistani military vehicles, with bodies visible at the site, and fighters seen seizing weapons. BLA said the complete video would be released later.

No Response from Pakistan Yet

Neither the Shehbaz Sharif government nor the Pakistani army has issued any statement responding to BLA's claims of the attack on the army convoy.
