Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed a ballistic missile attack on the Saudi army's Badr Camp, according to Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree.
Saree said the missiles landed on military supplies of the Saudi army at the camp. The attack came after the Houthis reportedly hit Aden International Airport earlier on Wednesday.
Tension between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia is rising, the report said. Attacks from both sides have intensified over the past two days. Yemeni government forces backed by Saudi Arabia are also attacking Houthi positions.
Houthis claim heavy damage
Saree claimed the attack caused heavy losses to the Saudi army. He also said several military officers were among the casualties.
He did not give any figures.
Saree also warned Saudi Arabia not to use Aden International Airport for military purposes.
Military and energy sites targeted
The Houthis have been repeatedly targeting Saudi military and energy sites, the report said. They have attacked several Saudi army bases so far.
Several Aramco oil refineries were also reportedly attacked, affecting oil production.
In recent days, attacks have also reportedly targeted airports. These include Riyadh International, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International, Najran International and Aden International airports.
What is behind the Houthi-Saudi conflict?
The conflict in Yemen began in late 2014, when the Houthis seized Sanaa and large parts of northern Yemen.
A Saudi-led coalition intervened in March 2015 in support of the internationally recognised government. Tension between the two sides has continued since then.
The Houthis are backed by Iran. Saudi Arabia backs the Yemeni government forces.
