Three sisters, including a two-year-old, died in a tragic accident after being electrocuted at a house built on farmland in the Sadar police station area of Baran district, Rajasthan, on Saturday.
The accident occurred at the house on the farm in Fatehpur village, where the girls were electrocuted after a cooler developed a current leak. The deceased have been identified as seven-year-old Saloni, three-year-old Avantika and one-year-old Sandhya. The incident has left the family devastated.
Sadar police station officer Naval Kishore Meena said Madanlal Sahariya, a resident of Karnavata village in Sirsi police station area of Guna district, worked as a farm labourer for a farmer in Fatehpur village. Madanlal was living with his family in the house built on the farmer's land. On Saturday, the family members had gone to work as labourers on the farm, leaving the three girls alone at home. The accident took place in their absence.
According to preliminary information, the cooler suddenly developed a current fault. The three girls came into contact with the cooler at the time and were electrocuted. When the family returned home from work, they were devastated to find the three girls in this condition. On learning of the incident, local residents rushed to the spot and took the girls to hospital.
Police and administrative teams reached the scene after being informed of the accident. The three girls were brought to hospital, where doctors declared them dead. The family has been left inconsolable by the loss of three young daughters at once, and the entire village is in a state of mourning following the incident.
Baran sub-divisional officer Ramavatar Meena said the administration reached the hospital after being informed of the deaths caused by electric shock. Post-mortem examinations of all three bodies have been completed, and the bodies have been handed over to the family. Arrangements are being made to transport the bodies to their native village. A detailed investigation into the incident is also underway.
The sub-divisional officer said the government would make every possible effort to assist the affected family as per rules. Police have also begun an investigation into the case following the incident.
