Minor Brother Kills Elder Brother, Sister-in-Law, and 3-Year-Old Nephew in Gorakhpur; Accused Taken Into Custody

A 16-year-old boy in Gorakhpur allegedly killed his elder brother, sister-in-law, and 3-year-old nephew with a sharp weapon in a late-night domestic dispute.

A spine-chilling triple murder shook the Bansagaon police station area of Gorakhpur district in Uttar Pradesh in the early hours of Monday, when a 16-year-old boy allegedly killed his elder brother, his sister-in-law, and their young son with a sharp-edged weapon while all three were asleep in the same room.

The victims have been identified as Amit Gupta, his wife Ranjana Gupta, and their three-year-old son Reyan Gupta, residents of Balua village under the Bansagaon police circle.

According to police, the incident took place around 3 a.m. on Sunday night. The minor accused allegedly crept into the room where the three family members were sleeping and attacked them with a sharp weapon, killing all three on the spot. The motive behind the brutal killings is being described as a domestic dispute, though investigators are probing the matter from all angles.

News of the gruesome crime spread quickly through the region, prompting senior officers to rush to the scene. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Kaustubh, SP South Dinesh Kumar Puri, and Circle Officer Bansagaon arrived at the spot with a heavy police force. Officers inspected the crime scene, collected necessary evidence, and questioned family members and neighbours.

SP South Dinesh Kumar Puri confirmed that the initial findings point toward a family dispute as the trigger for the violence. He stated that Amit, Ranjana, and three-year-old Reyaansh were all sleeping together in a single room when the attack took place. A case has been registered at Bansagaon police station on the basis of a written complaint filed by the deceased Amit Gupta's father.

The accused juvenile has been taken into police custody and the weapon allegedly used in the crime has also been recovered. All three bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Interrogation of the minor is ongoing as police work to establish the exact sequence of events and uncover the full motive behind the killing.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the village and the surrounding area, with locals expressing horror that a teenager could wipe out an entire family unit in a single night. Authorities say investigation is continuing on all fronts.
