Hiranoda Dry Port Jaipur: Raising high hopes of transforming Rajasthan's economic landscape, 'The Thar Dry Port' was inaugurated at Hiranoda in Jaipur. Developed under the 'Rising Rajasthan' initiative and the Central Government's 'PM Gati Shakti Mission', this Integrated Multimodal Logistics Park is being seen as a major step toward connecting the state's trade directly to the sea. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was scheduled to attend the event as the chief guest but could not make it due to heavy rainfall.

What the Public Representatives Said

Speaking at the ceremony, Industry Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore termed the project the foundation of a developed India. He stated that Rajasthan has emerged as the country's best choice for business and logistics today. "Our geographical location is highly advantageous, and we share seamless connectivity with Delhi. This is why the entire world is looking at Rajasthan today," he said.

Jaipur Rural MP Rao Rajendra Singh remarked that nature itself welcomed this historic beginning with torrential rains. He noted that although Rajasthan lacks a seaport and its land is barren, this innovation on non-arable land will spark an industrial revolution in the state. Minister of State K.K. Vishnoi added that the world will witness Rajasthan growing rapidly and shining bright in the times to come.

Benefits to Rajasthan

The project will drastically reduce transportation costs and transit times for both small and large-scale exporters in the state. A robust infrastructure will attract major domestic and global companies to set up manufacturing units in Rajasthan. Furthermore, this single project is claimed to generate more than 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Key Highlights of the Logistics Park

  • State-of-the-art multimodal trade network.
  • Equipped with features set to technologically redefine the face of logistics in North India.
  • Developed across more than 100 acres.
  • Located just 55 kilometers from Jaipur, making it the most accessible gateway for industries.
  • Directly connected to the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), linking major industrial hubs of the state like Bichoon, Bagru, Dudu, and Sitapura directly to Gujarat's Mundra and Pipavav ports.

Low Cost, Double the Speed

During the ceremony, Ruchir Parekh, MD of Hasti Petro Chemical & Shipping Limited, said that with the commencement of the Thar Dry Port, Jaipur’s world-famous handicrafts, garments, and marble, along with products from neighboring regions, can now be transported directly via trains from Hiranoda to Kandla and Mundra ports. This will not only save exporters a long 700-kilometer journey by road but will also substantially lower logistics costs.
