Keshkal Ghat Jam in Chhattisgarh: Truck Breaks Down at Eighth Bend, Vehicles Queue Up for About 5 km on Both Sides

Kondagaon: Traffic was disrupted once again on Tuesday morning at Keshkal Ghat, which lies on the national highway and is the gateway to Bastar. A truck suddenly broke down at the eighth bend of the ghat, leading to a long queue of vehicles on both sides of the road. According to the report, the jam stretched for around 5 km, and commuters and drivers faced considerable difficulty.

Truck breaks down at eighth bend

According to the information available, a truck broke down at the eighth bend of the ghat on Tuesday morning. As the ghat road is narrow, the movement of vehicles was affected, and a long line of vehicles soon built up on both sides. Small and large vehicles, along with passenger and goods vehicles, were stuck in the jam.

After receiving information about the jam, district police personnel reached the spot and began regulating traffic. The police are trying to let vehicles pass one at a time by turns, on a one-way basis, so that traffic in the ghat is not completely blocked. However, because of the large number of vehicles, it is proving difficult to normalise traffic.

Police working to regulate traffic

Vehicle breakdowns and jams caused by technical problems are a frequent occurrence at Keshkal Ghat. The road through the ghat is winding and narrow in several places, so even a single vehicle breaking down can lead to a queue stretching over a long distance.

For now, a team of police personnel is working to regulate traffic. Traffic in the ghat is expected to return to normal fully only after the broken-down truck is removed. Drivers have been facing trouble for a long time because of the jam.
