Weather Update: A sudden weather change has swept across most parts of the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert on Sunday for thunderstorms, rain, and squalls in 16 states. Heatwave warnings have been issued for Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. This change has impacted daily life, with reports of damage in several areas.

Rajasthan Experiences Both Heat and Rain

On Saturday, parts of Rajasthan, including Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer, experienced thunderstorms accompanied by rain. Temperatures in several districts, including Churu, exceeded 43 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heatwaves in 5 districts and thunderstorms in 14 districts of the state. The hot winds led to deserted streets during the afternoon, while light showers in several areas provided some relief from the heat.

Changing Weather in Madhya Pradesh, Yellow Alert Issued

The weather in Madhya Pradesh took a sudden turn on Saturday evening. Light showers were reported in Bhopal, the state capital, while heavy rain was recorded in Indore. Gwalior experienced strong winds, leading to incidents like falling trees and power outages. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for 21 districts and warned of thunderstorms and lightning.

Rain and Lightning Threat in 38 Bihar Districts

The Meteorological Department has issued a serious warning for Bihar. An alert has been issued for thunderstorms, rain, and lightning in all 38 districts. 26 districts are under an orange alert, and 12 under a yellow alert. On Saturday, two people died in Gaya district due to a wall collapse caused by thunderstorms and rain.

Strong Winds and Damage in Delhi-NCR

Strong winds and rain lashed the National Capital Region (Delhi-NCR) on Saturday evening. The tin shed of the Ashok Nagar Rapid Metro station was blown onto the road by strong winds. Trees were uprooted in several places, affecting traffic.

Five-Day Alert for Chhattisgarh

The Meteorological Department in Chhattisgarh has forecast adverse weather conditions for the next five days. Alerts for thunderstorms, strong winds, and rain have been issued for districts including Raipur, Bilaspur, Baloda Bazar, Rajnandgaon, and Durg. These areas experienced strong rain and thunderstorms on Saturday.
