Seoni: One passenger was killed and 12 others were injured when a bus overturned in Madhya Pradesh's Seoni district early on Tuesday.
The bus, run by Sutra Seva bus service, was travelling from Bhopal to Balaghat. The accident took place on the national highway near Bamhodi petrol pump, about three kilometres from Seoni city. The bus reportedly went out of control because of potholes and a slope on the road, and overturned. It was carrying 32 passengers.
Local residents pulled the passengers out of the bus with great difficulty. The injured were taken to the district hospital, where they are being treated. Five of them have serious injuries. The person killed, a resident of Balaghat, had got trapped in the bus.
Administration officials were present at the spot, and rescue work was reported to be continuing.
Earlier, on Sunday, a bus and a car had collided near Paunar village, under Barghat police station limits in Seoni district, in which several people were injured.
