Rigorous enforcement against narcotics has intensified following Donald Trump’s second inauguration as President of the United States. With drug addiction and its impact on American youth escalating, President Trump has directed the government and military to take all necessary measures to curb trafficking. Consequently, the US military frequently targets vessels transporting illicit substances, with a recent engagement reported in the Eastern Pacific.
Under the direction of General Francis Donovan of the US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), the Joint Task Force Southern Spear unit targeted a vessel carrying narcotics. The unit deployed a missile strike that completely destroyed the craft. Footage of the operation was subsequently released via Southern Command’s official social media channels.
The strike resulted in the deaths of two individuals aboard the vessel. Southern Command has officially designated both individuals as "narco-terrorists."
Southern Command confirmed that no US military personnel were injured or killed during the missile engagement.
