Retail sugar prices have eased across several Indian cities just ahead of the festive season, as government measures ease the pressure on supply. A fall in ex-mill sugar prices has begun showing up at retail shops, and additional domestic supply may be on the way soon. Shree Renuka Sugars has offered to sell around 2.5 lakh tonnes of sugar, produced under the advance licensing scheme, in the domestic market, a move that could ease supply pressure further in the coming days.
