Raigarh Railway Station Set for a Major Face-lift Under Amrit Bharat Scheme

Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh Railway Station is getting a 12-crore upgrade under the Amrit Bharat Scheme with modern amenities and improved infrastructure.

Raigarh Railway Station: Chhattisgarh's Raigarh Railway Station will soon be seen in a modern and attractive avatar. To provide better amenities to passengers, work on beautification, infrastructure upgrading, and the expansion of various passenger facilities is being carried out at a rapid pace at the station.

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the station's main entrance, parking, waiting halls, lighting system, and approach roads are being developed.

To inspect the progress of the development works, Collector Mayank Chaturvedi visited the station with officials and issued instructions to complete all work by the end of July.

During the inspection, the Collector observed various development works, including the station building, main entrance, parking area, waiting rooms, road connectivity, drainage, and lighting systems. He directed the concerned officials to complete all works with high quality by the end of July.

Transformation Taking Place Under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

According to railway officials, Raigarh Railway Station is among the major stations of the South East Central Railway. It is an important station for passengers coming from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal. Keeping the increasing number of passengers in mind, the station is being upgraded under the Central Government's Amrit Bharat Station Scheme to provide a modern and convenient travel experience.

Main Entrance and Parking to Get a New Look

The main entrance of the station is being developed in line with modern architecture. Along with this, the parking arrangement is also being streamlined, where separate parking slots will be created for different categories of vehicles. This will offer convenience to passengers for vehicle parking and will also improve traffic management.

Expansion of Waiting Halls and Passenger Amenities

The booking office at the railway station is being upgraded. Waiting halls equipped with modern facilities are being prepared for first and second-class passengers. Special attention is also being paid to better seating arrangements, cleanliness, and the expansion of other essential amenities.

Solution to Waterlogging and Approach Road Issues

An effective drainage system is being developed to prevent waterlogging during the rainy season. Meanwhile, the route connecting the main road to the station is also being improved, so that passengers do not face any inconvenience during transit.

Development Works Worth 12 Crore Rupees to Be Undertaken

Railway officials stated that a total amount of 12 crore rupees has been sanctioned for the development and upgrading of Raigarh and Belpahar railway stations. With this amount, work is being carried out on various projects to strengthen the infrastructure and expand passenger amenities.

Station's Development Linked with District's Identity

Collector Mayank Chaturvedi said that the first impression of passengers arriving in any district is formed by its railway station. Therefore, the development of the station is not limited just to building construction, but is also linked to the identity and image of the district. He directed all departments to complete the work within the fixed deadline through mutual coordination.
